President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated a new volleyball court in R. Innamaadhoo on Thursday morning as part of his ongoing visit to North Maalhosmadulu Atoll.

The President’s visit has been marked by a focus on youth development and community infrastructure. During a meeting with Innamaadhoo residents on Wednesday evening, he pledged to prioritize the establishment of sports facilities to support youth development and foster healthy lifestyles.

Following the inauguration ceremony, President Muizzu inspected the new volleyball court, emphasizing its role in providing recreational and developmental opportunities for the island’s youth.

The event was followed by groundbreaking ceremonies for two key infrastructure projects on the island: a new Police Station and a Council Secretariat building. The Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, led the groundbreaking for the Police Station, while the Minister of Cities, Local Government, and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, officiated the ceremony for the Council Secretariat building.

President Muizzu is accompanied on his tour by several Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials. His visit underscores the administration’s commitment to enhancing community facilities and addressing the development needs of islands across the country.

These initiatives reflect the government’s broader goal of ensuring that every island has the necessary infrastructure to support its residents, particularly the youth, in achieving their full potential.
