The Maldives Immigration has initiated a special operation to identify and address cases involving foreigners allegedly committing acts that could harm the public interest.

In a statement released yesterday, Maldives Immigration noted that some foreign nationals have been gathering in public areas and engaging in activities that may negatively affect the community. In response, officers from the Immigration Enforcement and Compliance Division have started monitoring these locations.

“This operation will be carried out in a series to prevent such acts from recurring,” Immigration stated.

As part of the initiative, the task force will also take action against individuals found residing in the country without legal status. The ongoing operation reflects Immigration’s commitment to maintaining public safety and enforcing immigration regulations.

Further details about the scope and outcomes of the operation have yet to be disclosed.
