The Ministry of Education is set to launch a special platform to train teachers in modern technology, according to Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu.
Speaking during the "Presidential Statement 2025 Forum" broadcast on state media, Shafeeu announced plans to establish the platform within the National Institute of Innovation (NII). The initiative aims to equip teachers with advanced technological skills to enhance the educational experience.
The minister also revealed the development of a new education management system designed to give parents real-time access to student information. The system, being developed at a cost of MVR 45 million, will provide parents with insights into school attendance, learning environments, and examination results.
Minister Shafeeu highlighted concerns about the declining pass rates in Dhivehi, Mathematics, and English between 2015 and 2023. He emphasized the need for modern solutions to improve the overall quality of education.
The education reform efforts underscore the government's commitment to integrating technology in schools and fostering a more efficient learning environment.
