The Government of India has agreed to provide technological assistance to the Parliament of Maldives to support its digital transformation.

This decision came after a meeting between the Speaker of the Maldives Parliament, Abdul Raheem, and Indian Parliament Speaker Om Birla. Abdul Raheem, during his visit to India at the invitation of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, requested India's support to digitize the parliamentary office.

The Maldivian delegation was warmly welcomed by Speaker Om Birla at the Indian Parliament House. During the meeting, Abdul Raheem emphasized the success of India's use of modern technology, digitalization, and artificial intelligence within its parliamentary processes. He expressed a desire for the Maldives to adopt similar technologies.

In response, Om Birla assured full cooperation from the Indian Parliament, offering to provide the necessary technological support and training for Maldivian parliamentary staff to assist in the digitalization efforts.
