Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has acknowledged that medicines are not available at the best prices in the country but assured that the issue will be resolved soon.
Speaking to local media, Minister Nazim stated that disruptions to the healthcare system are often caused by individuals trying to create instability, with some politicians deliberately portraying a negative image of the sector.
He admitted that the current system for accessing medicines is not optimal and that prices remain high. However, he assured that the government’s efforts to address the issue would yield positive results soon.
“The problem will be resolved very soon, and a good solution will be provided,” Nazim said.
Additionally, he announced the introduction of new treatment guidelines aimed at reducing medical negligence. These guidelines are being developed with the support of international experts and local healthcare professionals.
