The Maldives and Turkey have discussed the possibility of increasing direct flights between the two countries to boost tourism and economic cooperation.

The discussions took place during a meeting between Maldives' Ambassador to Turkey, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, and Turkish Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

During the meeting, both sides explored investment opportunities in the tourism sector and ways to enhance collaboration in tourism and cultural exchange.

Currently, Turkish Airlines operates direct flights between the Maldives and Turkey. The talks aimed at expanding flight connectivity to further strengthen ties between the two nations.
