The distribution of canned fish cases for the month of Ramadan will commence tomorrow, as announced by the city council today.
According to the statement, the distribution will continue until next Friday and is exclusively for local residents in the Malé area. The city council will collect the ID card number and phone number of recipients based on the water or electricity meter for verification purposes.
Canned fish cases will be distributed daily from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM and again from 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM. The distribution points will include the General Services Department of the City Council, the MIFCO office compound, and the following locations:
- Umar Zahir Building (Hulhumalé Phase One)
- Youth Center of Shelter Flat Tower (Hulhumalé Phase Two)
- Villimale' Council Office
This year’s distribution is part of the government’s efforts to provide a Ramadan gift to households, with canned fish replacing the flour and sugar baskets distributed last year.
