The Maldives Police Service has announced special traffic management measures in five key areas of Malé City during the month of Ramadan to ensure smooth movement and public safety.

Speaking at a press conference today, Inspector of Police Tholhath Ahmed stated that preparations for Ramadan have included clearing spaces on streets and painting traffic signs in areas where signage was previously lacking.

The five areas under special attention include the market area, mosques, major roads, highways, and bridges. Police officers will be stationed in these locations to manage traffic flow and maintain order.

Inspector Tholhath noted that a dedicated police team has been active in the market area since February 15, working to remove parked vehicles obstructing the roads and advising individuals who dispose of garbage on streets and pavements. Additionally, the police have devised a special parking plan for vehicles in the market area to reduce congestion.

He further emphasized the importance of parking in designated zones when visiting mosques during Ramadan to prevent traffic disruptions and ensure a hassle-free experience for worshippers.

The police urge the public to cooperate with these measures to maintain safety and order throughout the holy month.
