PNC Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falaah has stated that the transfer of members between parliamentary committees is a regular practice within parliamentary groups.
In a post on X today, Falaah addressed recent changes to parliamentary committees, explaining that such adjustments have been made in previous parliamentary sessions based on factors such as party representation, committee attendance, and the level of engagement in committee work. He added that similar changes will continue in the future.
Falaah’s remarks follow the removal of PNC MP Ahmed Azaan Marzooq, who represents Hithadhoo Central, from the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on National Security Services (241 Committee).
Azaan has claimed that his removal is linked to his involvement in investigating corruption-related cases. Speaking to the media, he alleged that he is facing pressure due to the work he has been doing.
