President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has made changes to the composition of the "Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Incident that Occurred in Malé on 18 April 2025."
The Commission was established on 27 April 2025 to conduct an independent investigation into the incident involving a young person found collapsed on a building rooftop in Malé on April 18. According to police, she and a man had entered the building next to the rooftop where she was found, while under the influence, and the woman reportedly jumped from a fanlight on the 9th floor.
The Commission's mandate is to uncover the facts surrounding the incident, review the actions of relevant institutions, and recommend necessary measures to ensure fairness and impartiality in the investigation.
Following the reshuffle, the new members of the Commission include:
1. Dr Mohamed Munavvar, G. Hassankaarige (Chairperson)
2. Brigadier General (Retired) Ahmed Mohamed, V. Almaan
3. Dr Moosa Murad, Malé Registry Number 641
4. Jabeen Mohamed, Moonimaage, Th. Veymandoo
5. Aminath Eenaas, H. Habaruge
