President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated 'Media Fenda', a new facility aimed at improving media access to timely government information.
The inauguration ceremony was held this afternoon at the Media Fenda premises, located opposite the President’s Office.
The initiative is part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen engagement between the media and state institutions. Media Fenda is designed to provide journalists with direct access to official updates and press materials from the President’s Office and nearby government bodies.
Operated by the President’s Office, the facility will be open during all official government working days. Additionally, accredited journalists can access the centre 24/7, including on public holidays, upon request.
Access to Media Fenda is limited to registered Maldivian media outlets actively operating in the country. This includes newspapers, broadcasters, magazines, and other entities listed in the Maldives Media Council’s registry. A special permit issued by the President’s Office is required for entry.
Due to its location within the Green Zone, Media Fenda will be subject to all security protocols enforced by the relevant authorities.
The government reiterated its commitment to empowering media professionals by enhancing access to information and supporting journalistic development.
