The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has announced two new key appointments to state-owned companies effective 29 May 2025.
Aisha Noorain Janah has been appointed as the new Chairperson of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL). Noorain, who previously served as Chairperson of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), becomes the first woman to lead MACL. Her appointment follows the resignation of former Chairman Mohamed Umar Manik in December last year.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Shaheer has been appointed Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). Shaheer previously served as Chairman of Fenaka Corporation under the current administration but was dismissed from the role in August last year. He also formerly held the post of Managing Director at STO, resigning in November 2018.
Shaheer replaces Ahmed Naseef, who was removed from HDC in April last year and subsequently appointed Chairman of WAMCO.
