Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has said the current administration inherited an unprecedented level of debt when it assumed office, stressing that the government is now focused on economic recovery under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s leadership.

Speaking at a PNC gathering on Monday night, Minister Nazim criticized the previous administration, stating that the country’s independence and sovereignty were under question at the time of their departure. He added that the people were disillusioned and demanded change.

Nazim accused the former government of rampant corruption, mismanagement, and internal party instability, which he said placed a heavy burden on citizens. He added that citizens were made to bear the consequences of failed policies.

He further noted that the current administration is taking deliberate and focused action to restore the economy and rebuild public confidence. President Muizzu is taking bold steps to steer the country away from past damage and towards a more stable and prosperous future, he said.
