The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has begun issuing land registries for recipients of plots in Gulhifalhu under the government’s Landownership (Binveriyaa) Scheme.

According to the ministry, registry issuance started at 9:30 a.m. today at the former Housing Ministry premises. This marks the resumption of the registration process following changes made to the land use plan of Gulhifalhu, which resulted in modifications to previously allocated plots.

The final plot allocations were confirmed through a draw held on May 30 at the Usfasgandu area.

Recipients are required to bring their original national ID card when collecting the registry. If sending a representative, the original power of attorney and the ID card of the holder must be presented. The ministry also requested recipients to bring the original land allocation agreement signed between the recipient and the ministry, along with the registry copy.

A total of 2,438 plots have been allocated under the Binveriyaa Scheme, a flagship housing program launched by the former administration to expand land ownership opportunities for Maldivian citizens.
