President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially dissolved the Special Presidential Commission established to investigate the April 18, 2025, incident involving a Maldivian youth found collapsed on a rooftop in Malé.
The decision was made through a Presidential Decree issued today under Section 22 of the Presidential Commissions Act (Act No. 4/2019).
The Commission was formed on April 27 under Article 115 (o) of the Constitution to conduct a fair and independent investigation into the incident. Its responsibilities included uncovering the facts, reviewing the conduct of relevant institutions, recommending necessary actions, and advising the President.
The Commission’s final report was made public on June 17. Following its release, President Muizzu instructed the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology and the Ministry of Health to implement the report’s recommendations.
