PNC Parliamentary Group Leader Ibrahim Falah has said that justice for the thefts committed by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) leaders will soon be revealed with evidence.

Falah made the remarks in response to the national movement announced by the MDP, which has accused the government of looting the country. He said the MDP itself has destroyed the nation and is attempting to create unrest as investigations into corruption during its rule move forward.

According to Falah, the former MDP government distributed MVR 800 million to close allies under the pretext of reform, while foreign aid received during the COVID-19 pandemic was siphoned into private accounts abroad. He also alleged that hundreds of millions of MVR were handed out to companies in the guise of development projects.

Falah said the people are aware of these wrongdoings and will not be misled. He insisted that the truth about the corruption of MDP leaders will be exposed, holding them accountable before the public.

His comments come as the MDP prepares to hold a national rally in October.
