Maldives and China have signed 11 Memoranda of Understanding and Agreements to enhance cooperation across a wide range of sectors, marking a significant step forward in the bilateral partnership between the two nations.
The signing ceremony was held at the Wangfujing Hilton Hotel in Beijing, with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu witnessing the agreements. The MoUs focus on areas such as economic development, infrastructure, capacity building, and renewable energy, reflecting the shared commitment of both countries to sustainable growth and mutual prosperity.
The agreements are expected to deepen Maldives–China relations and pave the way for new opportunities in development and collaboration.
President Dr. Muizzu is currently on an official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
