Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed has said that despite holding all powers, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is unable to carry out the country’s development projects because of his own shortcomings.

In a post on X, Dr. Jameel shared a screenshot of a news report noting that several government projects have stalled, allegedly due to opposition criticism. He questioned whether the Parliament and the entire state were not already under President Muizzu’s control, adding that the President continues to “talk nonsense.”

Dr. Jameel said President Muizzu has exercised full authority, referencing actions such as the investigation into an alleged coup attempt, the dismissal of a state minister over witchcraft accusations, and a criminal probe into STELCO following a power outage.

He added that although President Muizzu controls the entire state budget, development projects remain stalled for one reason — “because the President himself is the problem.”
