March 21st, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives has reported 140 additional cases of Covid-19 within 24 hours.

The total positive cases recorded include 102 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 38 people infected outside the greater Male’ area. Out of this, 14 people are positive from operational resorts and 17 people are positive from inhabited islands.

With additional cases of the Covid-19, confirmed cases in the Maldives have increased up to 22,513 cases, including 2,436 active cases to Covid-19.

So far, HPA has taken 608,513 test samples for Covid-19, while HPA has taken 4,397 test samples within the last 24 hours.

HPA also reported that 107 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, which increases the total recoveries to 20,004.

According to HPA, there are 95 patients admitted to hospitals, and the Maldives has recorded 66 deaths from Covid-19 complications.

As per the recent statistics, 218,645 people across the Maldives have received the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive.

According to HPA, 599 people received the Covid-19 vaccine from outside the greater Male’ region, in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, vaccination of the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the greater Male’ region is currently on halt.
