Newly elected Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) mayoral candidate Adam Azim has said the public will continue to face hardship until the MDP returns to power, stressing that meaningful change will only come with an MDP-led government.
Azim made the remarks while speaking at an event held to celebrate his victory in the party’s mayoral primary. He said the current situation in the country would improve once the MDP comes to power, adding that the challenges faced by the public would be addressed under an MDP administration.
He said Maldivians are calling for an MDP government and pledged to work tirelessly to secure victory for the party in the 2028 elections, stating that his aim is to ease the difficulties faced by the people by restoring the MDP to power.
Azim also called on all MDP members to work together to win the upcoming local council elections and the 2028 presidential election. He expressed confidence that the MDP would secure a decisive victory in the local council polls if unity within the party is maintained.
