A total of 1,721 people across the Maldives have received the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has initiated the vaccination of the second dose of the Covishield vaccine on April 03. The vaccination of the second dose will be held for people who have received the first dose of the Covishield vaccine from February 1st to 4th, in the greater Male’ area.

As per the recent statistics, 1,721 people received the second dose of the Covishield vaccine. Out of this, 1,149 people were vaccinated today.

According to HPA, 243,749 people across the Maldives have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine from the nationwide inoculation drive. Out of this, 2,622 people were vaccinated today.

The vaccine rollout program kicked off on February 01, with the Covishield vaccine donated by the Indian government.

In addition to the Covishield vaccine, Maldives have approved vaccines developed by Pfizer BioNTech and Sinopharm, for emergency use.
