Speaker of the parliament, Mr. Mohamed Nasheed requests Economic Minister Mr. Fayyaaz Ismail resigned from his designation.
Mr. Mohamed Nasheed sent a letter to the Maldivian Democtratic Party’s Chairperson Mr Hassan Latheef mentioning that he believes the resignation of the Economic Minister will be better for the party.
In his letter, Mr. Nasheed mentions that Mr Fayyaaz is filling up the position of Economic Minister from a slot received to the party and he does not have anything against anyone nor any minister.
He also mentions that checking for corruption in the Economic Ministry is not political, but the party has given a role of a politician for him hence from a political view he would advise Minister Fayyaz’s resignation.
