The total number of Covid-19 fatalities has raised to 87, with 3 fatalities reported this Monday.
As per the Health Protection Agency (HPA), today early morning a 75-year-old Maldivian female admitted at IGMH/ER was declared dead at 04:00 am, and this was confirmed as the 85th Covid-19 death in the Maldives. This was also the first Covid-19 fatality for the day. In addition to this, today morning an 85-year-old Maldivian male was declared dead at 08:30 am at B. Eydhafushi Atoll Hospital. HPA confirmed this as the 86th Covid-19 death in the Maldives.
The third Covid-19 death was also observed today Morning. The 74-year-old Maldivian male in K. Maafushi was declared dead at 09:45 am, and he tested positive for Covid-19. HPA confirmed this as the 87th Covid-19 death in the Maldives and the third Covid-19 fatality observed within less than 24 hours.
With a surge in Covid-19 infections in recent weeks, over 30 residential islands outside of the greater Male' region are placed under monitoring. So far, Maldives has recorded 35,815 positive cases and 26,299 recoveries.
