The total number of Covid-19 fatalities has risen to 101, with 3 fatalities reported this Monday.
The fatality was observed at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility. The 70-year-old Maldivian female was declared dead tonight, and this was confirmed as the 101st Covid-19 death in the Maldives.
Maldives reported the first death to Covid-19 on April 29 last year. As per the statistics, a total of 90 locals and 11 foreigners have passed away from Covid-19 complications.
With a surge in Covid-19 infections in recent weeks, over 56 residential islands outside of the greater Male' region are placed under monitoring. So far, Maldives has recorded over 44,000 positive cases and 28,459 recoveries.
