The President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today declared that the people of the Maldives stand in solidarity with Palestine.
He tweeted the statement prior to the “Free Palestine” campaign held today evening across the Maldives. The campaign was initiated by the local youth to show that the Maldivian people stand with the people of Palestine. To join the campaign, people showed up with the flag of Palestine.

President Solih has been very vocal about the situation on various international platforms. Even speaking at the 74th General Assembly of the UN, President Solih condemned Israel’s barbaric attacks against Palestinians.
