As per the recent announcement from the Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC), 9 kids and 5 staff from Fiyavathi, a children’s shelter located in Hulhumale’, have tested positive for Covid-19.
Speaking at the recent press conference by HEOC, Dr Nazla said that the first person with symptoms of Covid-19 from Fiyavathi was identified on September 30. The staff who had symptoms were tested, and the results were confirmed as positive the next day.
Dr Nazla also said that 54 people were isolated as a direct contact to the staff who got positive from Fiyavathi and 19 test samples were taken from them. From the 19 samples taken, 9 kids and 5 staff were tested positive to Covid-19.
Dr. Nazla further said that even though a number of cases have been reported from Fiyavathi, the situation remains good and the situation at Fiyavathi is being closely monitored.
