October 22nd; the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives reports 42 positive cases from 1,524 samples taken within 24 hours. This includes 27 Maldivians and 15 Foreigners.
A total of positive cases records 37 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 05 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.
With additional cases of the COVID-19, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have increased up to 11,358. This includes 931 active cases to COVID-19 in the Maldives.
HPA also reported the recovery of 99 infected people in the last 24 hours, which adds up to a total of 10,383 people recovered.
There are active Covid-19 cases in 23 resorts and in 21 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area. 22 Tourists and 30 staff have been tested positive to covid-19 in the resorts.
So far, Maldives has recorded 37 deaths due to complications of Covid-19.
