October 23rd; the Health Protection Agency (HPA) of the Maldives reports 33 positive cases from 1,570 samples taken within 24 hours. This includes 20 Maldivians and 13 Foreigners.

A total of positive cases records 24 people infected in the greater Male’ area and 09 people infected outside the greater Male’ area.

With additional cases of the COVID-19, confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives have increased up to 11,391. This includes 919 active cases to COVID-19 in the Maldives.

HPA also reported the recovery of 45 infected people in the last 24 hours, which adds up to a total of 10,428 people recovered.

There are active Covid-19 cases in 23 resorts and in 21 residential islands outside of the greater Male’ area. 22 Tourists and 34 staff have been tested positive for covid-19 in the resorts.

So far, Maldives has recorded 37 deaths due to complications of Covid-19.
