The President said that while celebrating the Day of Persons with Disabilities, we should respect the dignity of people with disabilities in society and strengthen our efforts to provide them with equal opportunities to lead a good life without discrimination and stigma.
Meanwhile, the Government of the Maldives continues to work on providing employment and income opportunities to people with disabilities. The state is also looking for ways to overcome the challenges people with disabilities face in society.
In addition, the government is making efforts to raise awareness among the people about respecting people with disabilities and not discriminating against them.
