Twitter Inc. said in a tweet on Saturday that it will relaunch a revised version of its subscription service Twitter Blue on Monday at a higher cost for Apple customers.

According to the firm, users may subscribe to the updated service for $8 per month through the web but $11 per month via Apple iOS, which will allow users to edit tweets, upload 1080p videos, and receive a blue checkmark upon account verification.

However, Twitter did not explain why Apple users were being charged more than others on the web but there have been media reports that the company was looking for ways to offset fees charged in the App Store.

The blue checkmark was originally given to companies, celebrities, government entities, and journalists verified by the platform. After Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion in October, he launched a service granting blue checks to anyone willing to pay $8 a month. But it was inundated by imposter accounts, including those impersonating Musk’s businesses Tesla and SpaceX, so Twitter suspended the service days after its launch.
