Maldives Police Service releases the arrested council member of the opposition party, Peoples National Congress (PNC).
PNC council member, Shaheeb Ibrahim, was arrested from the special operations conducted on 12th October, involving the 130 Kgs of drugs.
Shaheeb was released when he was brought into court to extend his custodial period. Although there was evidence submitted against him, he was released from custody by the court. The initial court order to keep Shaheeb under custody had referred to the evidence against him.
Seven people have been arrested from the special operations conducted on 12th October, involving 130 Kgs of drugs. Out of the arrested seven people, one of them was a minor below the age of 18, and the rest of them are between the ages of 25 to 48-year-old.
