Vice President Faisal Naseem meeting with stakeholders to discussion on enhancing medical training.
Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with stakeholders on Monday to discuss enhancing the training and education of medical practitioners in the Maldives.

During the meeting, Faisal inquired about the latest updates of the ongoing educational programs at the Maldives National University (MNU)s Medical School.

He also discussed the most pressing issues hindering the plans to further develop medical practitioners in the country, highlighting the importance of developing a hospital with integrated medical school facilities and specialized training programs to meet the demand for better healthcare in the country.

Faisal underscored the importance of facilitating internship opportunities to allow medical students to obtain practical experience in the field during their course of training.

Additionally, Vice President Faisal Naseem discussed the development of five tertiary level hospitals in different areas of the country - one of the key advancements to the health sector under President Solih's Administration. Underlining the value of developing stable human resources to meet the future demand for medical practitioners across the country, he urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to overcome obstacles towards the growth of the health sector.

The meeting was joined by the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan, Special Adviser on Social Policy of The President’s Office, Dr. Mustafa Lutfi, Vice-Chancellor of MNU, Dr. Mohamed Shareef, and Dean of MNUs School of Medicine, Dr. Sheeza Ali.
