Opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) headed by former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and The Democrats (TD) headed by former President Mohamed Nasheed have started talking.
TD which is completing the processes of official registration at the Election Commission of Maldives (EC), said that the two parties held talks yesterday morning. Also, the TD said that media would be updated on the talks later.
Earlier the minority leader in the Majlis, MP Ahmed Saleem, PPM – Eydhafushi Constituency, said that PPM and TD were working together unofficially in the parliament on various issues. He said that official talks with TD would start soon.
Days back, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Eva Abdulla who is leading the processes of official registration of TD, told reporters that “to end the rule of the present government, we will enter into whatever collaboration necessary”.
