Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Ahmed Mahloof has said that under the sports policy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s government, new sports facilities have been built in several islands.

Mahloof expressed his experiences in managing the sports’ policy of the government by tweeting pictures of a newly opened outdoor volley court in Feydhoo, Addu City, yesterday.

According to officials at the ministry, President Solih’s government is implementing facility development projects across the country without discriminating sports on their popularity or other such fundamentals.

Minister Mahloof said that with the completion of the development of the new volley court at higher standards and its opening in Feydhoo, “players can now enjoy their game unlike before”.

Mahloof published “before and after photos” of the volley court in his tweet to back his statement on the revolutionary changes taking place in the sports sectors of the nation since President Solih took office and started implementing a new sports policy that prioritized on new development of infrastructures and also coaching athletes on enhancing skills and performances.

“Development of volley courts in 30 islands completed. In addition, construction of volley courts in 80 islands are progressing”, Mahloof tweeted yesterday.
