Ministry of National Planning and Housing receives six hundred complaints against the preliminary list of land recipients under the government’s Binveriya (land owner) Housing Scheme.

According to Akram Kamaludeen, Minister of State at the Ministry of National Planning and Housing, under the extended opportunity for filing complaints against the list, the ministry mainly received requests seeking additional information. He said that there have been very little complaints against individual qualifiers.

The government published the list of land recipients on June 26 and people will be allowed to file complaints against the list until July 15.

Under the Binveriya Scheme the government will grant land plots to qualifiers from three locations in Male’ area, namely Hulhumale, Gulhifalhu and Giraavarufalhu.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih speaking on the numbers of land plots and their locations on Sunday said, “Approximately 2000 from Gulhifalhu, 2000 or more from Giraavaru new reclamation and 2000 or more from Hulhumale’, altogether 6,200 land plots will be granted from the three locations”.

President Solih also said that all the complaints against the preliminary list of qualifiers for Binveriya program would be completely handled and finalized for the government to award land plots to recipients in August.
