The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has confirmed that K. Maafushi Harbor Development project is well underway.
According to MTCC installation of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction has been commenced on earlier this week.
Scope of work of Maafushi Harbor Development Project includes, 63,711cbm new harbor basin dredging operations, 28,836cbm maintenance dredging operations, 4,414cbm channel dredging operations, construction of a 31m breakwater; a 680m rock boulder revetment; a 700m geo bag revetment; and a 374m quay wall.
The project also includes construction of a concrete jetty; a bridge and installation of 1,869sqm harbor pavement and harbor lights.
The value of the project is MVR 76.48 million.
