Criticising President Solih's personal affairs is an act of cowardness and ignorance, says the former President of current ruling party, MDP, Dr. Ibrahim Didi.
Dr. Didi made such comments after President Nasheed’s stated that the party members should think about how old President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is and be concerned about his health conditions.
Responding to President Nasheed in a tweet, Dr. Didi said President Nasheed does not remember the age of the world's major leaders. Didi said it was very ignorance of President Nasheed to make such provocative statements.
Speaking at the Democrats' House last night, President Nasheed said President Solih has to take a handful of medicine every morning. Speaking further, President Nasheed made offensive remarks about President Solih's heart condition.
“I have to tell President Solih that he has become old now,” Nasheed said.
President Nasheed said that when a leader gets old and weak, he has to rule with support from relatives. However, it will not benefit the country and the people, he said.
