The government revises the regulation on licensing of teaching professionals who have been required to undergo a four-year on-campus degree program before the changes were made to the rules.

The revision to the regulation was made by the government taking into consideration the growing demand among young men and women to pursue online degree programs. The fact that most of the teaching degree programs offered by colleges and universities are commonly completed in three years was also taken into consideration by the government.

The Ministry of Education has already communicated the changes incorporated in teaching courses to colleges and universities. Also, the ministry will be giving a grace period for the institutions to elevate their courses to the required levels and standards.

The changes to licensing will not affect the students presently pursuing their courses of study in the teaching profession. The students will be awarded teaching licenses when they complete their programs, says the ministry.

The revised regulation would be fully implemented starting from 2028 says the ministry.
