As a special part of this year’s Independence Day celebrations, “Minivan Ufaa Carnival” will be open from this evening, says the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The opening of the carnival was delayed due to an outbreak of norovirus on Thursday in Malé area.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will officially open the carnival at Hulhumalé Central Park today at 2000 hours.

Urbanco – a state-owned enterprise, which partners with the Ministry of Home Affairs in running the carnival tweeted, “Come celebrate Independence Day with us at Minivan Ufaa Carnival, where you'll experience a range of exciting activities that you've never seen before! Get ready for the ultimate fun experience!”

The carnival which closes on August 3, will hold a lucky draw among all the visitors, and the lucky person will be holidaying in Bali, Indonesia for seven days with an accomplice. All the expenses of the lucky draw’s winner will be covered by the organizer.
