The leader of MDA - a coalition partner of the ruling MDP, MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed said on Sunday that the speed of the infrastructural developments in the country would be noticeably higher if the people elect President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to office for a second time.

MP Siyam took part in the “Happy and Peaceful Maldives” campaign rally of President Solih held Sunday in Fuvahmulah City. He said that under President Solih’s watch “no island is left behind in the provision of basic infrastructures that are required for a decent living”.

“The people must know what they should do to keep the developments moving forward. Think people. If a different person is elected to office, the momentum will be paused abruptly. However, if President Solih is given a second term in office, the developments will be speedier”, said MP Siyam.

MP Shiyam in the rally noted and praised President Solih’s successful handling of the Covid-19 public health emergency. He said that the health emergency halted the Maldivian economy after the closure of the borders. “However, President Solih revived the economy with his thoughtful decisions”, said MP Siyam.

MP Siyam said that he decided to endorse President Solih when the latter had passed all his tests.
