Aasandha Company Limited - a state-owned company, introduces a self-service web portal (my.aasandha.mv) where citizens can obtain health services covered by the government’s free health insurance scheme.

Services that can be accessed through the portal that was launched Tuesday include authorized recommendations from licensed medical practitioners for patients who are required to travel abroad seeking medical care which is not available from the local health system.

These recommendations from doctors practicing in approved medical institutions in Maldives are required for citizens who seek overseas medical services under the national insurance scheme. From Tuesday the recommendations would only be issued through the portal.

Most of the company’s services are now available through the portal. However, locals who wished to visit the company’s office seeking its services are still welcome, says the company.

Aasandha Company Limited was established in 2011. The company manages the national health insurance scheme Husnuvaa Asssandha (non-exhaustible health coverage).
