Former Special Advisor to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Mohamed Shihab, and former Deputy Speaker of the People’s Majlis Ahmed Nazim joined Jumhooree Party today.
They signed the documents this morning to formally join the party at JP’s Main Office in Malé, located at Kunooz of Maafannu Ward.
After signing the official documents both Shihab and Nazim passed the papers to the leader of the party and its presidential candidate MP Qasim Ibrahim.
“I'm truly happy today. These high-profile former officials joining JP elevates my hopes of winning the presidential election. This is a green signal for JP's expected triumph”, tweeted MP Qasim today.
Shihab resigned from his advisory post on 2nd July 2023. Nazim after winning his freedom from a life sentence in 2018 has not served at an official capacity over the past five years.
