President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurates the completion of several infrastructure development projects on Henbadhoo Island in Noonu Atoll.

The development projects President Solih inaugurated on Saturday included the water supply network, coastal protection, upgrading of the existing harbor, and the FENAKA Office and powerhouse on the island.

President Solih is presently touring the Northern atoll as part of his presidential campaign. He toured Addu City last week.

The water supply network on Henbadhoo Island was contracted to the Malé Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). The project has now been completed, with water supply connections established for 162 households on the island and the service fully operationalized. The coastal protection project encompassed the development of a 235-meter revetment and 25-meter groynes.

The upgraded harbor was built to modern standards by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The harbor and its channel's basin were further dredged, port lights were installed, and pavement was constructed.

Following the harbor's inauguration, President Solih opened the new FENAKA Office and powerhouse. The facilities are equipped with modern amenities, with the office able to accommodate 15 staff members and the powerhouse having a power generation capacity of 498 kilowatts.

“Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has made significant progress toward achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes improving the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services”, said the President’s Office.
