Dr. Ameen Ibrahim, the running mate of the JP presidential candidate, confidently announced that the increase in USD inflation issues would be tackled by a government led by JP leader Gasim Ibrahim.

He stated this while speaking at a JP presidential campaign event held at L. Maamendhoo island. During his speech, Ameen Ibrahim voiced concerns about the adverse impact of the rising dollar price on businesses and the general public. He also expressed worry about the increase in commodity prices due to unresolved dollar issues.

"The official rate of the dollar is MVR 15.42, but the market price is increasing every day, it might be MVR 18 today, MVR 19 tomorrow, and MVR 20 the next day," said Ameen, and then he questioned how people in need afford to buy dollars if the market prices are increasing daily.

Ameen also spoke about the difficulties of purchasing dollars for medical treatment abroad. According to him, many are forced to beg or buy at inflated rates on the black market.

Ameen believes Gasim Ibrahim, the Presidential candidate of JP, can solve the dollar issue.

“We will solve the dollar problems in our government. We will issue dollar bonds. We will find some solution to this. At the same time, we will take care of other related issues. We can do them," Ameen explained.
