Maldives Development Alliance’s (MDA’s) leader MP Ahmed Siyam told a rally on Wednesday on the island of G. Dh Thinadhoo that “President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is a financial engineer (expert)”.
MP Siyam further told the participants of the rally held on the island as part of the “Happy and Peaceful Maldives” presidential campaign of President Solih that the latter is far ahead in his expertise relative to that of his political opponents.
“He is truly a financial engineer. This is the best president at finances that we can see around the world”, said MP Siyam.
He told the rally that President Solih made wise decisions in handling the COVID-19 health emergency and the economy.
MP Siyam who is among the country's richest hoteliers, further told the audience that the emergency period put all big businesses in the country into uncharted waters.
However, MP Siyam said that President Solih with assistance from overseas governments and parties took the required risks to prevent the economy from an unwarranted and dangerous halt during the emergency.
“President Solih is expanding the economy manifolds. The next-door airport on the island of Kaadedhdhoo when upgraded to handle international flights would positively impact the regional economy”, MP Siyam ended his speech at the rally.
