MP Jeehan Mahmood – MDP Hinnavaru Constituency, said on Thursday that none except President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih knew how to govern the Maldives.
She told an audience assembled on Hinnavaru Island as part of the “Happy and Peaceful Maldives” presidential bid of President Solih that the latter’s predecessors had failed in governing the country.
She also told the rally that the people of the country had experienced heavy-handed tactics from the previous administrations that did not want to listen to the public.
MP Jeehan presented facts on “a toppled MDP” government and a successive administration that took power through a coup d’état. She said that after the coup government, the people had seen a “thief” as the top executive of the country.
“Mr. President, none but you know how to govern the Maldives”, she told the rally where President Solih took a seat in the front row.
MP Jeehan said that historians would write pages on President Solih and his sincere services to the nation that had surpassed the contributions of all other presidents to the country.
“Historians could write a page and a half on each of the other previous governments. Why is that so? It is because President Solih has delivered more infrastructure to the country than any other previous presidents of the country. Also, he has contributed to human development putting behind all other presidents in the race as well”, said MP Jeehan.
