President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that he would not have time to focus on development if political unrest caused the country to fall into chaos.

During a Presidential campaign event on Ha. Naivaadhoo Island, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih expressed that his main priority is to work towards the development of the people and avoid any political turmoil. He emphasized that his only intention is to serve the people.

"I did not want to go into political chaos. If I had done that, I would not have had time to do the work I have done for the development of the people. We have not spent a large part of the budget on pepper spray. You can look at the previous five years. How much was spent from the state budget on pepper spray and tear gas?” he said.

The President also mentioned that there have been attempts to disrupt the country politically since he took office, but the government has not allowed it. He believes that if he had been involved in that chaos, he would not have witnessed the positive changes today.

Therefore, the people have renewed their hope today and want to move forward with the change that has come to the country, said the President.
