President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih accepts defeat and congratulates Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for winning the Presidential Elections.
In a tweet congratulating Dr. Muizzu on winning the presidential election, President Solih thanked the people for showing a beautiful democratic example in the election campaign. He also thanked his fellow supporters and associates as well.
"Congratulations Dr. Muizzu on winning the presidential election. Thank you for the beautiful democratic example shown by the people in the elections. Thank you to the MDP and Adhaalath Party members who worked together and to all the people who voted for me," President Solih said in his tweet.
Yesterday's election results showed that Dr. Mohammed Muizzu won the presidential election against President Solih in the second round with 129159 votes. He received 54.04 percent of the vote.
