The goal of the PPP/PNC is to secure a strong majority in parliament, according to statements made by the President- elect Dr. Mohammed Muizzu. During an interview with the local media, Dr. Muizzu expressed the party's aspiration to achieve a two-thirds majority in the upcoming parliamentary elections early next year.

Dr. Muizzu emphasized the value of PPP/PNC members in parliament, highlighting their crucial role in advancing government initiatives. He underlined the parliament's significance in expediting the government's progress.

Furthermore, Dr. Muizzu expressed his desire for the elected Members of Parliament (MPs) to be highly regarded and educated individuals. He also emphasized the importance of female representation, stating that the aim is to have at least one-third of the members be women.

The upcoming parliamentary elections will involve the election of 93 constituencies. Currently, there are eight PPP/PNC members serving in the Parliament.
