Opposition PNC parliamentary group leader and Parliament Member Adam Shareef Umar called the President that the people will no longer be confused and enough is enough.
In a tweet, Shareef went on to say that even when President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had majority support from political leaders and 65 members from the ruling party at the Parliament, he has not achieved his Presidential campaign pledges. He added that without proper management skills and leadership skills, the President has only put the country in debt.
Shareef further added that after putting the country into debt, he cannot blame former President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom, and he can no longer confuse people with it, and enough is enough.
MP Shareef's raging comment comes following the statement by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih speaking at the Hoarafushi Airport inauguration ceremony. During his speech, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the current large debt was inherited, from the previous government.
President also added that in the budget proposed for 2021, 4 billion Rufiyaa is allocated to pay off the debt inherited from the previous government.
Acknowledging concerns raised by some towards the Maldives level of debt, the President emphasized that despite the large debt inherited by this Administration from the previous government, it will work with its dedicated and qualified financial teams to address budgetary issues while investing in the Maldives future.
